Discharge screen printing:
- The Basics: A high end ink made for super soft shirts (commonly used in retail printing).
- How It Works: The ink dyes the garment directly, literally removing the color of the shirt and replacing it with the color of the image.
- Longevity: Discharge based prints last as long as the garment does.
- Brightness: Discharge based prints are bright and true to the mock up provided by Real Thread. Pending your choice of shirt and color, certain fabric dyes will react differently to water based inks. You can see a full collection of water based approved shirts here.
- Feel: The Discharge based print is super soft, breathable and literally a part of the garment. After the first wash, the print is unable to be felt on the shirt.
- Ease of Use: Discharge based ink is a higher quality ink that takes significant training to use. Due to the ink dying the shirt, Discharge based screen printers need to have significant knowledge on fabric types and ink reaction.
Discharge screen printing is a unique technique which is completely different from all other techniques. Here we first remove the design or ink that was made on the fabric and then print the new design. Basically in simple terms it works as the recycling process. This is commonly used in retail printing.
It is directly printed onto the fabric. Firstly, it removes the colour and then replaces it with another design or coloured ink. It is the most effective way of screen printing. This treatment is gaining popularity these days. The ink used here is a high quality ink with soft touch and with great breathability. It is widely used in all garments undergone Special Dyeing Process inorder achieve good Quality Discharge Screen Print.
